MINNEAPOLIS -- Fifth-year senior Lucy Morgan and junior Skylar Vetter have both been named to the HCA National Goaltender of the Year Watch List.Â
The Watch List features 28 goaltenders across the country who could vie for the title of 2024 National Women's Goalie of the Year, an award created in 2021 to recognize the top female goalie in NCAA Division I hockey.
Vetter is the reigning WCHA Goaltender of the Week for her performance against UConn, collecting 23 saves in 24 chances. In 13 games played this season, Vetter has tallied 325 saves while allowing only 23 goals. The Lakeville, Minn. native currently holds the record for saves in a single game set back on Oct. 27 of this season when she saved 52 shots on goal against Ohio State. In her three-year career, Vetter has amassed 1,286 saves with a 1.82 goals against average.
In her first year with the Gophers, Morgan has an 8-0-0 record between the poles. She has amassed 193 saves this season, holding opponents to a 1.37 goals against average. Morgan also had a shutout win on Oct. 14 against St. Thomas. In 119 total career games, she has a .929 save percentage, averaging a mere 1.94 goals against her.
