Jon Trasamar Scholarship
Friends of Gopher Men's Golf,
In December of 2023, the Jon Trasamar Scholarship was established in memory of former Gopher Men's Golf letterwinner and team captain, Jon Trasamar. It has been just over a year since Jon's passing. I'm sure many of you, like me, think of him often.
Since its creation, the scholarship endowment has grown to more than $200,000 thanks to the generous support of the Minnesota golf community. The inaugural "Trazzy Open" fundraiser hosted by the Trasamar and Haen families this past October was a great success and raised nearly $70,000. Thank you to everyone who participated!
As the calendar year comes to a close, I hope you consider making a year-end gift in Jon's memory. An anonymous donor has pledged to match all contributions to the Jon Trasamar Scholarship dollar for dollar up to $50,000.
The first scholarship recipient, Jack Wetzel, a junior from Edina, MN, was named in October. Jack exemplifies Jon’s values, being a great teammate, hardworking academically and athletically with a love of the game.
