WOMEN'S TENNIS DEFEATS WESTERN MICHIGAN, 7-2

Nora Sauska defeated Cyra Malik at the No. 2 position, 6-4, 6-4. Sauska improved to 3-0 in the spring season and 11-5 overall.

At No. 1 singles, junior Kim Simonsen defeated Larissa Chinwah, 6-3, 6-1. Senior Sitinee Rangsithienchai won her match at No. 3 singles, 6-2, 6-4. Freshman Jen Howard defeated Kendra Becker at No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6- 3. Senior Tarah Elkins defeated Mindy Champion, 6-3, 6- 4, at No. 6.

In doubles, the team of Simonsen and senior Jana Hrdinova defeated Chinwah and Dimitrescu, 8-4, at the No. 1 position. At No. 3, Sauska and Howard teamed to defeat Nikki Thompson and Hillary Schaffer, 8-6.

Minnesota will play Marquette on Sunday at 9 a.m.
