Minnesota racked up 456 total yards including 333 rushing yards. The combination of senior quarterback Billy Cockerham and senior rushing back Thomas Hamner collected 285 rushing yards. Hamner finished the day with 174 yards on 34 carries, just 10 yards shy of his record. Cockerham rushed 19 times for 111 yards and scored two touchdowns.
Cockerham also completed seven of 16 attempts for 123 yards an a touchdown. Sophomore wide receiver Ron Johnson caught six passes for a career-high 108 yards, including a 39-yard touchodwn pass.
Freshman placekicker Dan Nystrom made three field goals today including a career-long 51- yarder, which is also the Minnesota freshman record.
Indiana sophomore quarterback Antwaan Randle El completed 12 of 30 pass attempts for 161 yards. He also rushed for 64 yards on 18 carries. The leading rusher of the day was Levron Williams with 123 yards on 16 carries and two touchdowns.
Minnesota will travel to Iowa City, Iowa, next Saturday to take on the Hawkeyes at Kinnick Stadium at 11:10 a.m., to finish out the season.
