BERG, BRANAGH, HAGEN, HEBERT WIN ALL-DISTRICT VOLLEYBALL AWARDS

Branagh won her second consecutive all-district award after leading the Big Ten Conference in kills (664) and kills per game (5.44). Berg earned her first all-district selection, as she led the Big Ten in service aces (70) and aces per game (0.61) for the second straight season. Hagen also won her first all-district award, placing second in the conference with a .362 hitting percentage and sixth with 1.23 blocks per game.

Hebert won his first-ever AVCA District 2 Coach of the Year award after leading the Golden Gophers to a 15-5 Big Ten Conference record and a second-place Big Ten finish. The team's overall record of 27-8 is the second-best in school history, and the squad's 15 Conference wins was also a new standard. Minnesota has been ranked in the national poll for eight straight weeks.

No. 22 Minnesota (27-8) will face No. 1 Penn State (32-1) in an NCAA Central Regional semifinal on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. (CST) at University Park, Pa. The game will be broadcast on WDGY AM 630 and the Internet at www.psu.edu/sports.
