MINNESGOLDEN GOPHERS TRAVEL TO BIG TEN CHAMPIONSHIPS - Minnesota, the defending conference champion, travels to the 1999 Big Ten Conference Championships on Saturday, March 27, at Michigan State.

MINNESOTA RANKED NO. 16 - The Golden Gophers are ranked No. 16 after the 10th week of competition with a regional qualifying score of 194.700. Minnesota is one of five Big Ten Conference schools listed in the ranking. The others are Michigan (No. 5), Penn State (No. 6), Ohio State (No. 9) and Illinois (No. 24). The RQS is based on a team's six best regular-season meet scores, of which two must be home and two away. The high score and the low score are eliminated and the remaining four scores are averaged. The next rankings will be released Wednesday.

BIG TEN PREVIEW -

Team title - Minnesota and Michigan have combined to win the last eight titles, with the Wolverines winning six straight conference titles before the Golden Gophers placed first a year ago.
