scoThe University of Minnesota dropped the third game of its European tour 94-84 to the Evreux Alm professional team today. The Golden Gophers were outscored 34-51 in the first half, but rebounded to score 50 points in the second half, but it wasn't enough as Exreux scored 43 points in the second stanza. The Maroon and Gold was plagued by lack of depth in the front court and poor foul shooting. Minnesota was 44 percent from the line (8-18), compared to 75 percent (24-32) for the French club.

The Golden Gophers were led in scoring by Kevin Nathaniel who tallied 17 points in 23 minutes. John Blair Bickerstaff scored 15 points and had six rebounds, while Mitch Ohnstad had 14 points and three steals. Terrance Simmons, Joel Przybilla and Rychart all tallied eight points, with Rychart pulling down a team-high 13 rebounds and Simmons tallying a team-high seven assists.

Former Arizona State star Bobby Lazor tallied 23 points to lead Evreux. Ralph Davis, who played collegiately at UTEP and was a two-time All-WAC selection, scored 15 points. Minnesota did a good job of taking care of the ball with just nine turnovers, but gave up 23 points in transition.

The team will finish off the tour with three straight games in three days in Belgium. The Golden Gophers plan to visit the Palace of Versailles and the Eiffel Tower and other famous sites in Paris.
