HAUSER HONORED AS WCHA DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Hauser, a native of Bovey, Minn., turned aside 33 of 35 shots in Minnesota's 5-2 win over Harvard on Wednesday evening, then smothered 40 of 42 shots in Thursday's 6-2 triumph over Northern Michigan in the tournament title game en route to earning tournament MVP honors. Hauser has allowed two or fewer goals in four of the team's last five games.
Hauser, who has started 56 of the last 57 games for the Golden Gophers, ranks third in the WCHA in saves percentage (.914 overall, .918 in league games). Hauser leads the league in all games with 575 saves. On the season, Hauser has a 8-9-2 record with a 2.91 goals-against average.
The Golden Gophers are idle this weekend. The team is back in action Jan. 14-15, playing host to Denver in a pair of WCHA games at Mariucci Arena.
