GOPHER WOMEN'S TENNIS TEAM SPLITS FOR THE WEEKEND

Thomas and Havelkova will team with Minnesota men's tennis players Harsh Mankad and Thomas Haug in a team competition featuring 16 of the top combined men's and women's tennis teams in the nation, based on the combined season-ending rankings from last season. The team tennis format was originated by Billie Jean King and Larry King. Each team is comprised of at least two men, two women and a coach. A team match consists of five sets, with one set each of men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles.
Thomas Wins Consolation Title At UNLV Invitational
Sophomore Amy Thomas won the Flight 1 singles consolation title at the UNLV Tennis Fall Invitational in Las Vegas. Thomas won her final two matches, defeating Agnieszka Abrahm of UNLV on Saturday (2-6, 7- 6, 6-4) and Catherine Hall of Tennessee on Sunday (6-3, 7-5).
Sophomore Michaela Havelkova placed fifth in Flight 1 singles after a loss to Dominika Olszewska of Oklahoma State on Sunday.
