defenThe Golden Gophers open their 2000-01 season Saturday in Fargo, N.D. at the 31st annual Bison Open. The tournament is an open competition in which wrestlers compete unattached. Minnesota returns defending Bison Open champions in Leroy Vega (125), Brett Lawrence (133), Chad Erikson (141), Jared Lawrence (149), Luke Becker (157), Brad Pike (165), Damion Hahn (184) and Owen Elzen (197).
