Lindsey Berg had 55 assists and led Minnesota to a .306 hitting percentage, the second consecutive night the Golden Gophers hit over .300 as a team. Amanda Burbridge led Arizona State with 19 kills and tied a Sports Pavilion record with seven service aces. Jami Coughlin added 10 kills, but was limited to a .029 hitting percentage. The Golden Gophers outblocked the Sun Devils, 16-7, and held a 64-52 advantage in digs.
Burbridge ends her Arizona State career with 1,597 kills, good for third on Arizona State's all-time kill list. First-year Sun Devil setter Cheryl Anglin set a new ASU record for assists in a season with 1,452 assists. Branagh is the Big Ten's all-time leader in kills and improved her sixth-place position on the NCAA all-time list with 2,360 kills. Her 31 kills tied a Minnesota school record in an NCAA match, tying her own record set last year in the Gophers' five-game win over Southern California. The Golden Gophers are among the final 16 teams for the fourth time in school history, including back-to-back years for the first time, but have never qualified for a regional final.
