GOPHERS DEFEAT #24 MISSOURI AND LOUISVILLE, ADVANCE TO METRODOME SEMIFINALS

Nygren's first home run capped a seven-run fifth inning, erasing a 3-0 Missouri advantage. Braden and Nygren hit back-to-back home runs in the seventh inning. Minnesota pounded out 15 hits in the victory.
The Gophers scored single runs in the second and third innings and held on to clinch second place in the pool play standings. Gopher first-year pitcher Angie Recknor went the distance, earning her third victory of the season.
Minnesota will play Louisville in the semifinals of the Metrodome Softball Classic at noon. The championship game is slated for 2 p.m.
