WOMEN'S GOLF MOVES UP TO NINTH AT MIDWEST CLASSIC

MinMinnesota is tied for ninth place after the second round of the Midwest Classic in Dallas, Texas. The Golden Gophers, who won the team title in 1999, scored 328 on Saturday to follow Friday's 326. Minnesota is tied with Iowa at 654.
Junior Katie Bakken leads Minnesota golfers with two rounds of 80, tying for 17th at 160. Sophomores Megan Stier and Cindy Cannon are tied for 35th at 164. Freshman Kirstin Whalen is 44th at 166, with freshman Karyn Stordahl 57th at 169.
Texas Christian leads the team race at 614. Missouri's Amelia Moses and Texas Christian's Lori Sutherland are tied for the individual lead at three-over-par 147.
The Midwest Classic concludes on Sunday.
