GOLDEN GOPHERS SHOCK NO.9 INDIANA

The first half started with two points for the Hoosiers after a Dusty Rychart foul, but Minnesota scored the next two baskets and took a 4-2 lead. Indiana would go up by nine to make the score 13-6, but the Golden Gophers would fight back and pulled within five. The first half would continue to go back and forth with Indiana going up by nine to make the score 29-20. But baskets by Przybilla, freshman Kevin Burleson and freshman Shane Schilling, the Golden Gophers pulled within one. Indiana and Minnesota went into the lockerroom with the Hoosiers ahead, 35-34.
In the second half, Przybilla started things off with a dunk to give the Golden Gophers a quick 36-35 lead before Indiana's Jeffery Newton scored to put the Hoosiers up by one. Przybilla would not miss a shot the rest of the game as the two teams would battle back and forth, with Indiana's biggest lead being 62-56 with 8:20 left in the game. The Golden Gophers fought back and tied the score at 75 with a Przybilla basket from the left side of the lane. Przybilla scored the winning basket off an assist from junior Terrance Simmons with .4 seconds left to give the Golden Gophers the 77-75 win and the upset of No. 9 Indiana.
Freshman Shane Schilling scored a career-high 13 points and Burleson added 10 points for the Golden Gopher effort. A.J. Guyton scored 27 points and Kirk Haston scored 24 points for the Hoosiers. The Golden Gophers (12-9, 4-7) shot 47 percent from the field and outrebounded the Hoosiers, 36-34.
The Golden Gophers have a week off before Illinois comes to town on Thursday, Feb. 17. Game time is set for 6 p.m. at Williams Arena.
