Kraft will play her senior season at Utica Eisenhower High School this spring. She is a goalkeeper and field player for the Michigan Olympic Development Team, but will concentrate on the keeper position when she joins the Gophers. Kraft plays club ball for the Michigan Hawks, the same team that sent Michigan natives and current Gophers Alison Rackley and Allyson Brodie to Minnesota.
"Kelly's quickness and foot skills in the net will help her compete for playing time immediately," said Wickstrand. "She also continues the pipeline of several of Michigan's finest coming to play their collegiate soccer at Minnesota."
Lee, a forward, joins the Gophers after a stellar career at Champlin Park High School. She scored 26 goals and 65 points her senior season with the Rebels, earning all- state, all-metro, all-conference and team MVP honors. Lee finished her career as a three-time all-state and all-conference honoree. Kecia is the sister of former Gopher standout Nicole Lee, who finished her career third on the Minnesota career list with 46 goals and 118 points.
"Kecia is an athletic, quick and strong player who will impact our forward line immediately next season," said Wickstrand. "We are excited to welcome another member of the Lee family to our program."
Kraft and Lee join Rachael Roth of Hamel, Minn., Amy Khaleel of Edina, Minn. and Noelle Langston of Santee, Calif as the Gophers' class of 2000.
"We are extremely excited about our entire 2000 recruiting class," added Wickstrand. "We look forward to seeing them in maroon and gold and helping our program continue its success in the Big Ten Conference and nationally."
