"I'm honored to be a part of one of the top women's athletics departments in the nation," said Freimark. "It's an exciting time in women's athletics and my number-one goal is to raise the awareness of the Minnesota Women's Athletics Department. We want to share the excitement that surrounds our Golden Gopher women student-athletes."
Freimark, a 1995 Minnesota graduate, returns to her alma mater after stints at Carlson Companies, Inc. and Mall of America. Freimark joined Carlson Leisure Group as an Account Executive in April 1999. In this position, she created, implemented and managed marketing plans for approximately 250 franchise agencies within eight media markets, including the Twin Cities.
Freimark spent two years as the Associate Sponsorship Manager of the Mall of America from 1997-1999. Her duties included prospecting and developing new business with the Mall's marketing partners, managing all media partnerships, managing internal signage program of Mall tenants and overseeing the maintenance of the Mall of America's website. She also spent two years as a Marketing Sponsorship Coordinator at Mall of America from 1995-1997, after serving as a marketing intern in spring 1995. In 1996, she was honored by her peers as a Team Member of the Year, an award earned by employees who show excellence in quality, teamwork and guest service.
"I am confident that Natasha's experiences at the Mall of America and Carlson Companies combined with her love of sports and her alma mater make her the perfect selection to move our program to the next level," said Voelz.
Freimark has served on committees for Women's Athletics events. She was a member of the steering committee of the Gophers' Texas Tuxedo event in 1999. The event was the most successful fundraising event in the history of Minnesota Women's Athletics. She was also a committee member for the Texas Tuxedo II event last spring and the 1999 Women's Athletics Fall Auction.
Freimark succeeds Scott Shragg, who resigned the position last month.
