GOLDEN GOPHER CROSS COUNTRY PLACES 25TH AT NCAA MEET

Eastern Michigan's Boaz Chboiywo won the individual title clocking a 28:47, nearly 20 seconds ahead of second-place Jorge Torres of Colorado.
Junior Will McComb placed 72nd to lead the way for the Gophers, running a 30:39 10K. McComb, a native of Port Elgin, Ontario, bettered his time at the Midwest Regional Championships, where he placed second, by over a second to run the eighth-fastest 10K time in school history.
Junior Toby Henkels placed 114th in 31:08, while Ryan Ford finished third for Minnesota placing 151st (31:30). Other Minnesota competitors were freshman Erik Grumstrup (31:49/177th), Andrew Carlson (32:05/ 198th), Josh DoBell (32:34/216th) and Neil Hanson (32:49/224th).
