Golden Gophers in Milwaukee For Two Matches
Minnesota returns to competition after a week off to take on Houston and Marquette this weekend in Milwaukee, Wis. The Golden Gophers have a 2-1 record after splitting two matches in Colorado on Feb. 10-11.

About The Golden Gophers
Minnesota has played one match at home this season, winning 5-2 over Richmond. The team's match against Drake on Feb. 3 was cancelled due to weather. The Gophers split two matches in Colorado, falling to Tulsa, 5-2, and defeating Colorado, 6-1.

Newcomer Brandi Watts (Monument, Colo./ Lewis-Palmer) is undefeated during the spring season, sporting a 3-0 record in both singles and doubles.

About Houston
Houston is 1-2 this season with a win over Rice, but has suffered losses to Texas-Arlington and Central Florida, both by a score of 6-1. The Cougars have had to forfeit the No. 6 position in all three matches because of injuries. This will be the first meeting between the two schools.

About Marquette
Marquette is 3-5 on the season after a 5-2 win over Western Michigan last weekend. Marquette's two other wins have been against Wis.- Milwaukee, 7-0, and against Colorado, 5-2. The Golden Eagles' No. 1 singles player is senior Laura Garcia, who is ranked 39th in the nation. Minnesota leads the all-time series, 3-1. The last meeting between the two was in 1999, with Minnesota losing 5-4.

Minnesota continues an eight-match road trip, opening Big Ten Conference play at Ohio State on Friday, March 2, followed by a match at Penn State on Sunday, March 4. Minnesota will next be home March 16, when the Gophers host Drake in a match rescheduled from Feb. 3.
