SHUSTER NAMED THE BIG TEN ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

juGolden Gopher sprinter Jessica Schuster (Minneapolis, Minn./Washburn) was named the Big Ten Conference Women's Track and Field Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced today. Shuster, a junior, helped the Minnesota women's track and field team to a second-place finish at last weekend's UC-Irvine Spring Break Invitational. She won the 800- meter run with a personal-best clocking of 2 minutes, 10.59 seconds, a time that ranks as the sixth-fastest in school history. Shuster also ran a leg of the winning 4x400-meter relay that posted the fifth- fastest time in Minnesota history at 3:44.66.
