GOPHER WOMEN'S TENNIS EDGED AT WISCONSIN

Amy Thomas and Tammy Wang captured an 8-5 win at number-two doubles, but the Badgers won matches at the number-one and number-three positions to take the doubles point. The two teams split in singles action with the Gophers gathering wins from Valerie Vladea at number-one singles, Wang at number-four and Brandi Watts at number-six.

Minnesota (11-7, 3-6) travels to face Iowa on Saturday.
