BRADEN, HAYS PLACED ON ALL-REGION SECOND TEAM

FastpiSenior infielder Angel Braden and junior outfielder Tammi Hays were named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Mideast Region second team.

It is the second post-season award for Hays, who earned first-team all-Big Ten honors last week. Hays is on the all-region second team for the second consecutive year. She led the Gophers with a .331 batting average, 37 runs scored, 55 hits and 22 stolen bases during the 2001 season.

For Braden, it is the first-ever honor on the all-region team. She was named to the all-Big Ten third team as a sophomore in 1999. Braden led Minnesota with seven home runs, 36 runs batted in and 75 total bases.
