Havelkova Defeated in Pre-Qualifying at All-American Championships

Angeles,Michaela Havelkova won one of two matches in the pre-qualifying rounds of the ITA All-American Championships in Los Angeles, Calif. Havelkova fought off Donata Majauskaite of Tulsa 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 to earn a win in the first round.

In the second round, Havelkova faced Amy Trefethen of Kansas losing in straight sets 1-6, 3-6. Teammate Valerie Vladea begins play in the qualifying singles competition Oct. 8 at the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif. Havelkova and Vladea will pair up in qualifying doubles competition, which also begins Oct. 8
