Golden Gopher Wrestling Signs Five Top Recruits

Kish, a three-time Michigan state champion at LaPeer West High School, joins the Golden Gophers as the nation's top-rated wrestler at 189 pounds, according to USA Wrestling. Kish is also listed as the top recruit in the nation, according to InterMat. A Junior National Champion, Kish is projected to wrestle at 184 pounds for the Maroon and Gold.
C.P. Schlatter, a three-time state champion at Graham High School in St. Paris, Ohio, joins the Maroon and Gold as the top-ranked 145-pounder in the country, according to USA Wrestling. Rated as the third-best recruit in the nation by InterMat, Schlatter is projected to wrestle at 149 or 157 pounds for the Golden Gophers. In addition to his athletic prowess, Schlatter is also an Academic All-American.
Mack Reiter, a native of Jesup, Iowa, was a three-time Iowa state champion at Don Bosco High School. A Junior National Freestyle All-American, Reiter is rated No. 3 nationally at 119 pounds by USA Wrestling. He is projected to compete at 125 or 133 pounds for Minnesota. Reiter is listed as the 11th-best recruit in the country by InterMat. Reiter becomes the first blue-chip recruit from Iowa to ever sign with Minnesota.
Matt Koz comes to Minnesota as a two-time Ohio state champion at St. Edward High School in Lakewood, Ohio. Rated No. 1 nationally at 215 pounds by USA Wrestling, Koz is a Junior National All-American who is projected to wrestle at 197 pounds for the Golden Gophers. He is ranked as the 23rd-best recruit in the nation by InterMat.
Mitch Kuhlman, a native of Medford, Minn., joins the Golden Gophers as a two-time Minnesota state champion. He finished in third place at the state tournament in 2000 and is a top 50 recruit, according to InterMat. Projected to wrestle at 165 pounds for Minnesota, Kuhlman also is a Junior National All-American.
