Senior Adam Hauser stopped all 13 shots he faced as he relieved rookie Justin Johnson 24 seconds into the second period. He is 2-0-1 in four relief appearances this season.

North Dakota led for the majority of the contest as it got a pair of goals in the first eight minutes of the game. Pohl helped Minnesota get on the board at the 16:34 mark. He deflected a clearing pass and Jake Fleming picked it up and his wrister beat UND goalie Josh Siembida.

At the start of the second period, David Hale sent a slap shot from just outside the blue line that Johnson appeared to stop between his glove and blocker. The puck then dropped to the ice and as Johnson tried to sit on it, it trickled into the net.

The game remained 3-1 until Pohl struck again on the power-play with his turnaround wrister that beat Siembida top shelf at 9:02 on the power-play. He added his second goal on the rebound at 16:48.

Tied at three, Jon Waibel got the puck in front of Siembida and with his backhand, slid the puck through the pads.

The win marked the first sweep for Minnesota at Grand Forks since March 6-7, 1992. The Golden Gophers improved to 3-0-0 in the new Ralph Engelstad Arena.

Minnesota hosts five of the next six games at Mariucci Arena with Colorado College coming to town this weekend. The Tigers earned three points at home vs. Wisconsin.
