Women's Tennis Takes a 6-1 Loss Against Michigan

4-1The University of Minnesota women's tennis team dropped the second Big Ten match in two days with a 6-1 loss to No. 75 Michigan at the Varsity Tennis Center in Ann Arbor, Mich. The Gophers are now 4-11 overall, 0-5 in Big Ten play.

Valerie Vladea gained the lone win in the competition, with a 6-2, 6-2 defeat over Michigan's Kavitha Tipirneni. However, it was not enough to push the Gophers past the Wolverines.

Next action for the tennis team will be March 19, as the team faces non conference opponent S.E. Missouri. The match is set for an 8 a.m. start.
