Women Gophers Win Seven Events at Jim Duncan Invitational

Sophomore Tahesia Harrigan was victorious in both the 100 and 200-meter dashes at the meet. The sprinter won the 100-meter dash in just 11.88 seconds, the third-fastest time in school history, while winning the 200-meter dash in the fourth-fastest time in Gopher history, running 24.33 seconds. Harrigan also anchored the 4x100-meter relay team, including Amber Day, Shannaine Osbourne and Melissa Woltman, who finished first with a time of 46.06 seconds, the third-fastest relay time in Minnesota history.
Monica Stearns won the pole vault competition with a vault of 12-feet. Stearns vault is the third-best leap in school history and a personal- best for the sophomore.
Newcomer Zoe Nagell ran a personal-best time of 11:36.36 in the 3000- meter steeplechase to take first place. Teammate Amy Sas won the 3000- meter run in just 10:32.93. Also winning her event was junior Saree Zweifel, who placed first in the triple jump with a leap of 37-feet, 9 1/4-inches.
In other track and field news, sophomore Megan Johnson placed second in the hammer throw and fifth in the shot put at the Lee Krough Invitational in St. Peter, Minn. hosted by Gustavus Adolphus College on Saturday, April 13. Teammates DaLee Wilkinson and Jessica Mitchell placed second and sixth, respectively in the javelin, while sophomore Heidi Crabtree finished second in the discus.
