David Boos Joins Golden Gopher Volleyball Staff

Boos, a Delafield, Wis., native, will serve as the Gophers' recruiting coordinator, while also having significant training responsibilities in the gym.
"David is a young coach who is considered one of the rising stars of our profession," said Hebert. "In just a few years, David has earned an excellent reputation as a top-notch recruiter. We are excited to have him on our staff."
Boos spent three seasons (1999-2001) at Indiana and helped the Hoosiers to the third NCAA Tournament appearance in their history in 1999. Last season, a season which saw six Big Ten Conference schools received bids to the NCAAs, Indiana placed ninth in the league with a 5-15 mark, 8-20 overall.
Boos began his coaching career at Wisconsin-Oshkosh, serving as the Titans' volunteer assistant coach from 1995-98, while working toward his bachelor's degree. He helped Wis.-Oshkosh to a fourth-place finish in the NCAA Division III Tournament in 1996 and a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title in 1995. He also contributed to the development of the 1996 NCAA Division III player of the year and two other All-Americans. Boos graduated cum laude from Wis.-Oshkosh in 1998 with a degree in biology.
Boos has also been active in playing and coaching men's collegiate volleyball. Boos played setter on the Wis.-Oshkosh club team that won the National Intramural Recreational Sports Association National Championship in 1996 and Wisconsin Volleyball Conference titles in 1997, ?98 and ?99. He earned all-conference accolades four consecutive years from 1996 to 1999. From 1996 to 1999, Boos served as the club team head coach as well.
Boos assisted in the training of the men's volleyball club program at Indiana during his stint in Bloomington. The Hoosiers placed fifth in the National Intramural Recreational Sports Association Division I Championship in 2001, posting a 42-5-2 overall record.
