Darwitz Garners Sixth Rookie of the Week Award This Season

Darwitz, a Patty Kazmaier finalist, led Minnesota to a home sweep over Minnesota State with five points. In the first game of the series, Darwitz scored three of the Gophers' five goals, leading Minnesota to a 5-1 victory. In her hat trick, two of her goals came on the power-play, moving her into a tie for first on the team in power-play goals and tied for second in the conference. It was her fourth hat trick of the season. Darwitz followed her hat trick performance with two assists in the 4-0 shutout, Sunday. She had an assist on the game-winning goal and an assist on Kelly Stephens' goal in the second. She ranks second among rookies and third overall in the WCHA with 62 points.
The Golden Gophers will close out their regular season when the team heads to Wisconsin, Feb. 28 and March 1. The games are slated for 7:05 p.m. start at the Capital Ice Arena in Middleton, Wis.
