No. 23 Alabama Defeats Women's Tennis in Tuscaloosa

The 23rd-ranked Alabama Women's Tennis Team defeated the 34th-ranked Golden Gophers, 7-0, on Wednesday afternoon in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Minnesota (8-4) will finish its spring trip with a match at No. 26 Georgia Tech on Saturday.

Alabama earned the doubles point in the deciding match at No. 2. Minnesota's Angela Buergis and Nischela Reddy fell to Ashley Bentley and Sophie Cremers in a tiebreaker, 9-8 (5)

The Crimson Tide swept the six singles matches, including four in straight sets. The Golden Gophers' Amy Thomas fell in three sets at No. 4 singles, 2-6, 6-3, 1-6. Freshman Nischela Reddy was defeated in a super tiebreaker at No. 5, 5-7, 7-5, 7-10.
