Gopher Women's Hockey Announces 2003-04 Schedule

The University of Minnesota women's hockey team has released its schedule for the 2003-04 campaign. The Golden Gophers will host eight regular-season series at Ridder Arena and will host the 2004 WCHA Women's Final Five, March 11-13. It is the first time since the start of the WCHA-Women's League in 1999-2000 that a member of the conference is the host institution for the league tournament.
Minnesota opens the preseason with an exhibition game against the Aurora Panthers, on Oct. 5. The Gophers will then travel to Calgary, Alberta to take on the Oval X-Treme in an exhibition series, Oct. 10-11. Minnesota opens the regular season with a home series against Ohio State, Oct. 17-18. On Feb. 28-29, the Gophers will host WCHA rival and three-time defending national champions, Minnesota-Duluth. Minnesota also adds nonconference opponents Brown, North Dakota (who will join the WCHA in 2004-05), Mercyhurst and Dartmouth to the 2003-04 schedule.
