The announcement of the Brandon Hall Memorial Scholarship was made Friday evening during the National "M" Club Gopher Sports Hall of Fame induction banquet, where Hall's mother, Dorothy, received an honorary "M" letter from Head Coach Glen Mason.
"We are thankful for the McReavy's generous gift to fully endow the Brandon Hall Memorial Scholarship," Minnesota Associate Athletic Director for Athletic Development Mike Halloran said. "Not only will this scholarship allow us to recognize Brandon and keep his spirit alive within our football program, but this gift is another step toward insuring the long term fiscal viability of the athletic department."
A native of Detroit, Mich., Hall graduated from Finney High School, where he played as a tackle on both sides of the ball. He recorded 60 tackles with 12 sacks and 15 tackles for loss as a senior. After redshirting during his freshman year with the Gophers (2001-02), Hall recorded a solo tackle in the season-opening win over Southwest Texas State.
