No. 9/9 Minnesota returns home to Williams Arena after suffering its first two losses of the season on the toughest road trip of the season to then No. 9/10 Purdue and No. 7/8 Penn State. The Golden Gophers play their third consecutive game against a nationally ranked team as No. 20/20 Michigan State travels to Minneapolis. Both Minnesota and Michigan State are 4-2 in Big Ten play. The Gophers are 15-2 overall, while the Spartans are 14-3.

It's Her Hometown
The annual Hometown Day celebration will honor Golden Gopher sophomore forward/center Christina Collison and her hometown of Eden Prairie, Minn., on Sunday. A ceremony honoring the occasion will take place during halftime of the Gophers' game with Michigan State.
The Only Barnstormers
Michigan State is the only team to defeat Minnesota in Williams Arena since the Golden Gophers moved back into The Barn midway through the 2001-02 season. The Gophers are 24-1 after their move to Williams. The only loss was to the Spartans (80-73) on Feb. 24, 2002. Minnesota has won a record 19 straight since.
The Final Countdown to Minnesota Scoring History
Lindsay Whalen needs 2 points to become the leading scorer in Golden Gopher women's basketball history. Whalen enters the Michigan State game with 2,096 career points. She has started each of her 103 career games and has started a consecutive string of 101 contests. The 5-9 guard became the third Golden Gopher and ninth player in Big Ten history to surpass the 2,000 career points milestone. Gophers' 1994 Team Honored Minnesota's 1994 team, the first Golden Gopher squad to advance to the NCAA Tournament, will be recognized during a halftime ceremony of the game Sunday versus Michigan State.
