volleybaFormer Minnesota volleyball standout Cassie Busse (Prior Lake, Minn.) has accepted an invitation to play professional volleyball for the Corozal Pinkin Volleyball Club in Puerto Rico. The league's preseason will begin on Jan. 11 & 12, and the regular season starts Jan. 14 and runs through March 7th.

Busse gained national recognition this season by receiving AVCA First-Team All-American honors and Big Ten Player of the Year honors. During the NCAA Tournament she was also named the Pacific Region's Most Outstanding Player, and also garnered Final Four All-Tournament honors after recording 23 kills against the eventual national champion USC Women of Troy.

She also finished her career ranked sixth on the Minnesota kills list with 1,502. Busse also became only the fourth player in school history to record over 600 kills, recording the fifth-highest total in school history at 614.
