Golden Gophers in the WCHA Tournament
Minnesota holds a 5-4 record in the WCHA Tournment, dating back to the 1999-2000 season. Minnesota has faced Wisconsin the most in the championship, a total of four times. The Maroon and Gold have winning records against two teams in this year's WCHA Final Five Championships. Minnesota defeated Minnesota State, 10-0 in 1999-2000. The Gophers have also posted a 3-1 record against the Badgers and a 1-1 mark against Ohio State. The Gophers have not won a WCHA championship game against Minnesota-Duluth, posting an 0-2 record. The last time the Gophers entered the WCHA Final Five as the No. 1 seed, Minnesota defeated Ohio State, 4-1 and Wisconsin, 3-2 for the Final Five Championship. However, Minnesota has also lost two games entering as the No. 1 seed. The Golden Gophers won the regular season in 2000-01, but dropped two at the championships to OSU (4-0) and Wisconsin (4-3).
