Hahn Named Most Valuable Wrestler on Golden Gopher Wrestling Team

A native of Lakewood, N.J., Hahn was named the team's Most Valuable Wrestler and the Most Outstanding Wrestler. He captured his second-straight NCAA Championship in March and became just the third wrestler in school history to win two national titles. He also became the fourth four-time All-American in school history.
Volkmann was named the team's Most Dedicated Wrestler and was also honored for having the most falls this past season with 12. A native of Henning, Minn., Volkmann was a three-time All-American at Minnesota and was one of just four wrestlers in school history to have three top-four finishes at the NCAA Championships.
Also honored was Cole Konrad who was given the Most Outstanding Freshman Award. Hailing from Freedom, Wis., he earned his first All-American citation with a fourth-place finish at nationals. With a 38-10 record, Konrad collected more wins than any other heavyweight in school history.
Redshirt freshman Quincy Osborn was the recipient of the Fraser Dean Most Courageous Award, while junior Josh McLay was given the Chris Berglin Most Improved Award. McLay was also honored for his outstanding work in the classroom with the Upperclassman Outstanding Academic Award. Junior Jon Duncombe was named the Most Exciting Wrestler following his first season with Minnesota after transferring from St. Cloud State. True freshman C.P. Schlatter, one of the top recruits in the nation last year, also excelled academically and was given the Freshman Outstanding Academic Award.
