Q: I wish you the best of success this season. I will be at every home game, but what is the status with the Michigan, Michigan State games agreeing to play here? The headlines are not saying too much about what is going on. Gopher football should stay in Minnesota. Best of luck, and GO GOPHERS!!!
Scott. G.
Minneapolis, Minn.

A: This still has not been decided. Best Guess - If not Saturday, then Friday night.

Q: Do you think there is a way the University of Minnesota can negotiate with the Twins so that you won't have to change anything about your games vs. Michigan and Michigan State?
Brian
Bloomington, Minn.

A: No!

Q: Regarding the scheduling conflict with baseball, next year October 2nd with Penn State and Oct 23rd with Illinois will be a problem. Is it possible to move these game times now to avoid a repeat of this year?
Bill
Marine on St. Croix, Minn.

A: The Big Ten says no!

Q: I am a season-ticket holder and would like to know why Paris Hamilton would only have one year of playing ball at the U of M instead of two if he is red shirted this year. Coach, keep up the great job you are doing.
Bob
Burnsville, Minn.

A: He used up three of his five years in Junior College.

Q: As an alumnus and a season ticket holder since your arrival, I would like to know when the non-conference schedule will get better. I heard that Colorado State will appear on the schedule next year. How about getting teams from any of the other major conferences? I always thought it would be good to see teams that finish in the same place from the Pac 10, SEC, ACC, etc. Keep up the good work.
Keith
St. Paul, Minn.

A: We will continue to do what we feel is in the best interest of our program.

Q: How well do you expect the Gophers to do this year? And whom do you expect to win the NCAA Division I Championship?
Aaron
Victoria, Minn.

A: I feel we will be a better team this year.

Q: What is the deal with the white stripe on the Gopher helmets during practice?
Keith
Bloomington, Minn.

A: It is a teaching aid. We can see on practice film where they are looking.

Q: I am just wondering what happened with the freshman Jeff Sundsmo. He seemed like a good player at the Fan Day.
Dustin
Cottage Grove, Minn.

A: He decided to leave the team after approximately five days.

Q: Which member of your three-headed running back monster looks to get the most carries this year? Good luck! Go Gophers!
John
Orlando, Fla.

A: We will have to wait and see how it plays out. We do not have a pre-determined plan.

Q: How is Trevor McCulloch doing? Where does he rank on the offensive line depth chart? Thanks
Mike
Brainerd, Minn.

A: He is working hard. He is listed as our third team Left Guard.

Q: What freshman has made you say WOW thus far this preseason.
Kyle
Brooklyn Park, Minn.

A: Laurence Maroney

Q: I've noticed in situations where the Gophers have the ball in the last couple of minutes of the first half you don't attempt to call timeouts and move the ball for a possible score. Is there a reason behind this?
Jon
Coon Rapids, Minn.

A: It all depends on game-to-game situations. You need to be more specific.

Q: What is your initial impression of running back recruit, Laurence Maroney?
Lisa
St. Louis, Missouri

A: Very good Running Back!

Q: Why don't you have your own TV show? Is it by your own choice or is it because of the television stations. I can't seem to get enough Gopher football, and it would be great to have a half hour show each week breaking down the previous weeks opponents and giving exposure for the next weeks opponents.
Jeff
Minneapolis, Minn.

A: This is not by my choice. It is out of my control.
