Hahn Named Big Ten's Male Athlete of the Year

A native of Lakewood, N.J., Hahn captured his second-straight NCAA Championship at 197 pounds this past March and became just the third wrestler in school history to win two national titles. He also became the fourth four-time All-American and fifth three-time Big Ten Champion in school history.
Hahn finished his career with a 118-21-0 career record which places him 11th in school history in victories. His 84.9 percent winning percentage ranks ninth all-time. Hahn posted a 33-1 record during his senior season and concluded the year on a 27-match winning streak, the sixth-longest streak in school history. He helped guide Minnesota to back-to-back NCAA Championships (2001-02) and three straight Big Ten Championships (2001-03).
Hahn joins Jordan Leopold (2002, Hockey), Gretchen Hegener (1997, Swimming) and John Roethlisberger (1993, Gymnastics) as Big Ten honorees from the University of Minnesota. He is the fourth wrestler to earned Athlete of the Year status along with Ed Banach (1993) and Barry Davis (1985) of Iowa and Matt Lackey of Illinois (2003).
