Mitchell/Hehn Compete in Fifth Day of the Olympic Trials

HAdam Mitchell and former Gopher women's swimmer Keri Hehn competed in the fifth day of the U.S. Olympic Trails, today in Long Beach, Calif. It was the third event for Mitchell and the second for Hehn at the trails, which started July 7 and runs until the 14th.

Mitchell posted a time of 2:05.47 in the 200 individual medley, placing 18th of 43 partcipants. Mitchell competed in the 400 IM and the 200 back earlier this week. The 200 IM was the last event of the trials for Mitchell.

Hehn added a 20th-place finish in the 200 breatstroke event out of 47 swimmers. Hehn posted a time of 2:34.73. A two-time All-American in the 200 breast, placed 13th overall at the trials in the 100 breaststroke event.

The Gophers will have three swimmers competing in tomorrow's action. Terry Silkaitis will compete in the 50 free, while Chad Krastins and Brian Gettelfinger will compete in the 100 butterfly.
