The University of Minnesota has released its 37-game regular season men's hockey schedule for the 2004-05 campaign. The two-time defending WCHA Final Five champions will open the regular season against defending NCAA champion Denver in the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Game at the Xcel Energy Center on Saturday, Oct. 9. The Golden Gophers then head to Anchorage, Alaska for the 2004 Nye Frontier Classic on Oct. 15-16. Minnesota faces Massachusetts in the opening game of the tournament and will play either Canisius or host Alaska Anchorage on the second day of the event.
Minnesota will begin WCHA play a week later against defending WCHA regular season champion North Dakota on Oct. 22-23, in Grand Forks, N.D. The Maroon and Gold will make its home debut at Mariucci Arena in the regular season against Minnesota State on Oct 29-30.

Harvard, Merrimack and Northern Michigan will visit Mariucci Arena for the 14th annual Dodge Holiday Classic on Dec. 22-23. In the 28-game WCHA schedule, the Golden Gophers will not host Denver or North Dakota at Mariucci Arena. Minnesota will not travel to Alaska Anchorage or Minnesota-Duluth. The Golden Gophers will close out the regular season at Michigan Tech on March 4-5.
The 2005 WCHA Final Five will be held for the fifth straight season at Xcel Energy Center on March 17-19, 2004. Minnesota will host one of four NCAA Regionals at Mariucci Arena on March 26-27. The 2005 NCAA Frozen Four will be played at the Value City Arena in Columbus, Ohio, on April 7-9.
