Wisconsin-LaCrosse Captures Men's Maroon Griak Title

oWisconsin- LaCrosse captured the men's maroon race title today at the Roy Griak Invitationa located at the Les Bolstad Golf Course. The Eagles make their mark by becoming the first three-time winner of the Griak, adding the 2004 crown to titles in 2001 and 2002. 
The 2003 Griak champion, Minnesota State, Mankato placed second with 139 team points.
Wartburg's Josh Moen, the defending NCAA Division III national champion, finished the 8-kilometer race first with a time of 24 minutes and 44.1 seconds. Moen was the Griak runner-up a year ago. Placing second was Augustana (S.D.) junior Luke Baltrusch in a time of 25:26.5.
Moen out-distanced the field by 42 seconds, breaking away from the pack at the 3-kilometer mark. "I was feeling pretty good at that point," said Moen. "It's a big race so why not risk it?"
