FB: Gophers Climb Back into National Rankings

thAfter a one-week absence, the Minnesota Golden Gopher football team climbed back into the national rankings following its 23-20 victory over Michigan on Saturday. Minnesota is ranked 22nd in both the Associated Press Top 25 poll and the USA Today Top 25 poll.

The Gophers were ranked for the first time this season in the AP and USA Today Top 25 following its 42-35 overtime victory over Purdue on Sept. 24. Minnesota was ranked 18th in the Associated Press poll and 19th in the USA Today Top 25 for one week, but dropped out of the poll following its loss at Penn State.

The Gophers face 23rd ranked Wisconsin Saturday at the Metrodome. Kickoff for the game is scheduled for 11 a.m. and will be shown on ESPN. Approximately 3,500 tickets remain for the game and the Gopher ticket office will be open from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
