Keeping Busy
11/30/2005 12:00:00 AM | Men's Basketball
We're coming into a stretch where we play 5 games in 10 days so it's kind of a rough schedule for us for the next couple weeks. But we are really looking forward to showing the country what our team can do, as well as play through adversity. Going to Maryland and Arizona State will be unbelievable because those are places that Big Ten teams don’t usually play at. It'll also nice to see a little bit of warm weather. But we are taking one game at a time and not looking too far ahead, just expecting it come up here quickly.
As for me I'm doing well. It feels great to have classes start to wind down, it's small but I can see a little light at the end of the tunnel. A lot of people forget that we are students too and have the same workload as a student who is not an athlete would. I'm sure most everyone has heard or has seen that I am not playing at the moment. I have been sidelined for the past couple of weeks due to a stress fracture in my left leg. The training staff and doctors here are taking very good care of me so I'm hoping to be playing once again in the next couple of weeks.
I have never really had an injury where I have had to miss and extended amount of time until now so it has been pretty hard to deal with. It's hard going to practice everyday and not being able to play the game that you love, but I'm getting through it and I know that God has a reason for everything. I have been taking this time in which I am not as physically exhausted to concentrate even more on my studies, as well as just being a student of the game of basketball and seeing things on the court that can make me a better player when I come back. I'm trying to turn a negative into a positive.
As for the fans.... you guys have been fantastic this season so far. U gotta keep it up; it's great to hear that Barn rocking once again. Until next time God Bless.
