WR: Everson Places Second at 157 at the Daktronics Open

BroSophomore Matthew Everson placed second at 157 pounds at the 2005 Warren Williamson/Daktronics Open in Brookings, S.D., this past weekend The Mitchell, S.D., native won his first four matches, but had to default due to injury in the finals against Matt Collum of Iowa Central Community College.

After receiving a first-round bye, Everson posted an 8-0 major decision against Marc Busse. He followed that with a 5-3 decision against Robert Lopez. In the quarterfinals, Everson pinned Adam Aho in 4:14. He advanced to the finals with a 14-3 major decision against David Hildreth.

The Golden Gophers next compete at the Bison Open on Saturday in Fargo, N.D.
