MBB: Gophers Travel to West Lafayette to Battle the Boilers

The Matchup
The Minnesota Golden Gophers take to the road for the final two regular season games of the year. First up, a trip to West Lafayette, Ind., to take on the Purdue Boilermakers in head coach Gene Keady's last appearance at Mackey Arena. Keady will retire at season's end after 25 years on the Boilermaker bench.
The Gophers finished off the home portion of their schedule on Wednesday night with a 65-57 victory over Iowa. Minnesota has won two straight to push its Big Ten record to 8-6. Purdue stands at 3-10 in the Conference and have lost two straight. The Boilermakers lost at Indiana on Tuesday, 79-62.
Scouting The Boilermakers
Purdue is a three-headed attack with Carl Landry inside, David Teague from beyond the arc and Brandon McKnight running the offense. Landry, a first team All-Big Ten candidate, leads the Big Ten in scoring averaging 19.0 points per game. He's also fourth overall in rebounding at 7.3 rpg. Junior David Teague is ninth overall in the Conference in scoring averaging 14.6 per game. Teague is shooting .327 from beyond the arc (53-132). McKnight is invaluable to the Boilermaker offense leading the league in minutes played at 37.5 minutes per game. He also averages 11.7 points and 3.9 assists per game.
The Series
Purdue owns a 90-72 advantage in the series (including vacated games). The Boilers lead 57-25 in West Lafayette and won last year's meeting at Mackey Arena, 72-65. The Gophers have won the last two in the series.
What's Next
Minnesota plays its final regular season game at Penn State on Wednesday. The game will be broadcast on a tape delay basis on FSN North at 9:45 p.m.
