MBB: Hagen Selected to Play in NABC All-Star Game

University of Minnesota senior center Jeff Hagen will participate in Friday's NABC (National Association of Basketball Coaches) All-Star Game as part of the Final Four festivities in St. Louis, Mo.

Hagen will be a member of the 13-man NABC College All-Star Team that will take on the Harlem Globetrotters at 8 p.m., Central Time at the Savvis Center. The team will be coaches by Connecticut's Jim Calhoun.

Joining Hagen on the NABC College All-Star Team will be UTEP guard Filiberto Rivera, Southern Illinois guard Darren Brooks, Virginia Tech guard/forward Carlos Dixon, Duke guard Daniel Ewing, DePaul forward Quemont Greer, Kentucky forward Chuck Hayes, Iowa State center Jared Homan, Cincinnati forward Jason Maxiell, Oklahoma State forward Ivan McFarlin, Kansas guard Aaron Miles, Texas Tech guard Ronald Ross and Wisconsin forward Mike Wilkinson.

Hagen averaged 11.2 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game, helping Minnesota to a 21-11 record and its first NCAA Tournament berth since 1999. The honorable mention All-Big Ten selection finished his career tied for sixth on the career blocks list with 146 and recorded the sixth-most blocks in a season in 2004-05 with 73.
