MBB: Grier Named USBWA All-District

Junior Vincent Grier was named All-District 5 by the United States Basketball Writers Association today. This is the third postseason honor for Grier. Earlier, he was awarded First Team All-Big Ten honors by the conference coaches and all-district by the National Association of Basketball Coaches. District 5 includes the states of Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
A junior college transfer from Dixie State Junior College, Grier was third in the Big Ten in scoring at 17.9.0 points per game. He averaged 37.5 minutes per game in conference action and played all 40 minutes in five games, including the last three. The native of Charlotte, N.C., led the league in steals in Big Ten games with 35, an average of 2.19.
