VB: Minnesota-Nebraska Volleyball Match Moved to 1 PM
7/15/2005 12:00:00 AM | Volleyball
Minnesota and Nebraska had originally scheduled the match for 7 p.m., but elected to move the time up to 1 p.m.
The match features a pair of teams ranked in the top five in last year’s final AVCA/CSTV Top 25. Minnesota, who advanced to the national championship, was ranked No. 2 in the final poll, while Nebraska was ranked No. 5.
Minnesota and Nebraska have not faced each other since 1990. The last time the two teams played in Minneapolis was in 1989. Last year the two teams were one match away from meeting in the Final Four, but Nebraska lost in a thrilling five-game match to set up the Minnesota-USC matchup.
The Golden Gophers will open their 2005 schedule with the Diet Coke Classic at the Sports Pavilion on Sept. 2-3. Their first match will be against North Dakota State on Friday, Sept. 2 at 7:30 p.m.
