toSophomore forward Bobbi Ross and incoming freshmen Brittony Chartier and Melanie Gagnon have been selected to participate in the Under-22 Canadian Hockey Development and Selection Camp, August 12-21. The selection camp gathers forty of the best Under -22 women’s players in Canada and will compete in Calgary, Alberta.

At the conclusion of the camp, 18 players will be selected to compete against Canada’s National Women’s Centralized Team in a three game series on August 23, 25, and 26 in Calgary, AB.

Ross made an impression on the team and the Western Collegiate Hockey Association, earning the 2005 WCHA Rookie of the Year award. The last Gopher to earn the honor was Natalie Darwitz in 2003. As a sophomore, Ross was voted by her peers as team assistant captain for the 2005-06 season.

Gagnon and Chartier both competed with the Calgary Oval X-Treme in the 2004-05 season. In 16 games played, Gagnon, a defenseman, had nine assists. Chartier, a goalie, played in 23 games for the Oval, producing a 0.86 goals against average and a .925 percent save percentage. Both Chartier and Gagnon were members of the 2003-04 and 2004-05 Canadian Under-22 teams.
