Winter Break

1/13/2006 12:00:00 AM | Men's Basketball

I also got to go back to my old stomping grounds at Wayzata High and watch our basketball team play. It's always fun to go back and see old teachers, friends and coaches for me. As for outside of basketball I have gotten a chance to hang out a lot with my buddies from high school. I have a few guys that I've stayed real close with, even though we all went our separate ways after graduating so that was great for me.

Another high point of my break is that Coach Monson gave us a few days off for Christmas which allowed me to go and see my entire family who was out in Detroit at my dad's place for break. I also got to go and see the Pistons play the Spurs on Christmas Day, which was unbelievable for me because I had never been to a Pistons game before that. They really do it big in their arena where it almost becomes a spectacle that just has to be witnessed.

As for basketball we have been practicing real hard, sometimes twice a day just so our team can get to where we want to be for the Big Ten season which is always incredibly exciting. We did have a rough game against Northwestern in our opener but we are staying positive and really just trying to build off of our faults and successes thus far. So all I have to say is to stick with us, cause the Big Ten season is a season of both ups and downs. God Bless....
