Minnesota Volleyball Ranked No. 13 in CSTV/AVCA Poll

The Minnesota volleyball team (17-7, 11-3) dropped one spot to No. 13 in the CSTV/AVCA poll on Nov. 6. Minnesota had 735 points in this week’s poll.

Minnesota has now been ranked in 69 of the last 77 top 25 polls dating back to the 2002 season. The Golden Gophers have also been ranked the last six weeks, moving to No. 13 this week. Minnesota was also ranked No. 22 in this year’s preseason poll.

This past week Minnesota was 1-1, claming a three-game victory at Michigan State and losing a four-game road match against Michigan.

Entering the week, Minnesota sits in tie for second place at 11-3 with No. 10 Wisconsin. Both teams trail No. 3 Penn State for first place by two matches. Purdue is two matches behind the Golden Gophers and Badgers in fourth place at 9-5 in Big Ten play.

There were five Big Ten teams ranked in the top 25 this week. Penn State was the highest ranked team at No. 3, followed by No. 10 Wisconsin, No. 13 Minnesota, No. 16 Purdue, and No. 23 Ohio State.

Minnesota will host Illinois on Friday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. The Golden Gophers will also face Northwestern at the Sports Pavilion on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 8 p.m.
